Getting started with InfraIO Wallet

InfraIO Wallet is a non-custodial smart-account wallet. A passkey on your device (Face ID, Touch ID or a security key) authorizes everything you do. InfraIO Pay never holds your keys or your recovery phrase.

1. Create your wallet

Open the InfraIO Wallet section of the app and choose to create a new wallet. The app creates a passkey on your device. Approve the prompt with Face ID, Touch ID or your device PIN.

Your wallet is a smart account (ERC-4337, Kernel). It has the same address on every EVM network, so one address works for Ethereum, Base and any other EVM network you use.

2. Check your passkey backup

A passkey can sync through your device account or password manager, so it survives a lost phone. Keep that sync turned on. It is how you restore the wallet on a new phone. See Recovery and new phone.

Some phones cannot use passkeys. On those phones the app creates a device key wallet instead. A device key wallet requires a recovery phrase, because the key lives only on that phone.

3. Decide on a recovery phrase

For a passkey wallet the recovery phrase is optional, and we recommend it as an extra backup. You need it in two cases:

  • your wallet is a device key wallet, or
  • you want to remove your last passkey.

Write the words on paper, in order, and keep them offline. Anyone who has the phrase can control your wallet, and InfraIO Pay can never recover it for you.

4. Get your address and receive

Open Receive, choose a network and a token, and share the QR code or the share card. Receiving works right away, even before the wallet is set up on a network. See Receive and send.

Multiple wallets

You can keep more than one wallet in the app and switch between them. Each wallet has its own passkey and, if you choose, its own recovery phrase.
